About Me

Chris is a graduate of Bancroft School of Massage Therapy in Worcester, MA.  He is a licensed in Massachusetts MT6862 and Maine MT4081.

His goal to maintain a healthy lifestyle of diet and exercise. It is the pursuit of "well being" in his own life that lead him to the occupation of massage therapy.  He is an avid road cyclist and enjoys long distant riding.  He rides 3 or 4 times week.  Once a year he rides in the Harbor to the Bay Ride, a HIV/AIDS charity ride from Boston to Provincetown, MA.

Research has demonstrated that in addition to "feeling good," massage releases muscle tension, shortens the healing time of an injury, allows more nutrients and oxygen to reach the body's cellular tissue.  Receiving a massage can also helps release endorphins (the body's natural painkillers), demonstrated from research by the Touch Research Institute and that massage therapy increases natural killer cells (enhancing the immune system's functioning).

Knowing the human body heals best when relaxed, He often begins his sessions with Relaxation (Swedish) Massage to induce the body's innate relaxation response. Gradually, Deep Tissue techniques are applied and therapeutic edges are gently approached for adjusting chronically shortened muscles, breaking-up fibrous muscle adhesions and enhancing the range of motion in the major joints of the body.

He believes that his educational background and massage experience make me a well rounded therapist. Having a license in massage therapy, MEd and BS in Human Services and Diploma from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy.

His employment experience includes working in Provincetown, MA as a therapist at the Shui SpaNamaste Spa and the Admirals Inn Spa Ogunquit, Maine.  In Summer/Fall 2009 - 2010 and the Summer of 2010.  He currently has a solo practice and work out of my office at 20 Mill Street, Fitchburg as well as working with Fitchburg State University athletes giving sports massage, colaborating with the trainers on a volunteer basis.
